The Andhra Pradesh government has approved two new hotel projects in the Visakhapatnam region as part of its efforts to strengthen tourism infrastructure and attract greater private investment. The approvals were granted with the objective of enhancing accommodation facilities and promoting the region as a leading travel destination.
One of the approved projects is a three-star hotel at Annavaram in Visakhapatnam district. Together, the two hospitality projects involve an estimated investment of ₹337 crore and are expected to improve tourism infrastructure while creating direct and indirect employment opportunities for local residents.
Officials stated that the new hotels will cater to the increasing number of tourists, pilgrims, and business travellers visiting the region. The developments are expected to complement Andhra Pradesh's broader strategy of promoting coastal tourism, religious tourism, and hospitality-led economic growth.
The government believes that expanding quality accommodation facilities will encourage higher tourist footfall, attract additional investments, and strengthen Visakhapatnam's position as one of the state's premier tourism destinations. The projects are also expected to provide a boost to allied sectors such as transport, food services, and local businesses.
