Andhra University organised a well-being awareness programme for students, highlighting practical approaches to managing academic pressure, stress and emotional challenges.
The session, “Science Behind Heartfulness: Tools and Techniques,” took place at Dr. Y.V.S. Murthy Auditorium at Andhra University College of Engineering (A) in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. It was organised by the university’s Office of the Dean, Student Welfare.
Anantha Madhava Mohan, an international Heartfulness trainer, explained techniques for coping with stress, fear and negative thoughts. Students also practised yoga mudras and took part in a guided relaxation session designed to introduce them to methods for improving emotional balance and well-being.
Aditya Arya, a retired Director-General of Police and certified Heartfulness trainer, spoke about the Kanha Heartfulness Centre. He suggested that Andhra University consider entering into a memorandum of understanding with the organisation. He also urged students to use social media responsibly.
The programme was attended by Vice-Chancellor (in-charge) and Rector Pulipati King, zonal coordinator V.R.N. Nagasarma, principals Padmasri and Girija Sankar, and Dean of Student Welfare S. Haranath.
The session highlighted the importance of giving students practical tools to navigate everyday pressures alongside their academic responsibilities. Any proposed university partnership remains a suggestion unless formally announced by the institution.
