The Andhra Pradesh government is placing a strong focus on futuristic industries such as Artificial Intelligence, advanced data centres, fintech and semiconductor manufacturing to drive economic growth across North Andhra. The announcement was highlighted at the CII regional summit held in Visakhapatnam on October 7. Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath said the region is being developed as a high-tech knowledge and manufacturing hub, with sector-specific investment opportunities and infrastructure support.
The summit resulted in 31 MoUs involving ₹21,495 crore in proposed investments, with the projects having the potential to create around 56,945 jobs. The State is also planning five regional conferences to encourage decentralised economic growth and strengthen local enterprise and MSME networks. The Times of India
Visakhapatnam's emerging data-centre ecosystem is a major part of this strategy. The city is already seeing large-scale digital infrastructure investments, including Google's proposed AI hub, while other data-centre projects have also received land and incentive approvals.
