Travellers planning a trip from Visakhapatnam to Araku during the Dasara holidays have an additional travel option, with the South Coast Railway announcing a temporary extra Vistadome coach on Train No. 58501, Visakhapatnam–Kirandul Passenger.
The additional coach will operate from October 13 to October 20, 2026, to accommodate increased passenger demand during the festive season. The scenic railway route attracts tourists for its forest-covered hills, deep valleys, tunnels, bridges and landscapes around the Araku Valley and Borra Caves region.
Designed for sightseeing, the Vistadome coach features a glass roof, large side windows and 44 reclining pushback seats that can rotate up to 180 degrees. A rear observation lounge provides wider views of the surrounding hills and railway route.
Other amenities include GPS-based passenger information systems, LED lighting, CCTV surveillance, bio-toilets and a mini-pantry. Railway officials have encouraged passengers to plan their journeys in advance during the holiday period.
The temporary addition is expected to provide extra capacity for tourists and other passengers travelling along the scenic Visakhapatnam–Kirandul route during the Dasara rush.
