Andhra Pradesh is positioning itself as a global manufacturing and investment destination, with Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu and State Infrastructure and Investments Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy making the case at the CII Regional Summit held at IIM Visakhapatnam on October 7.
The ministers highlighted the State's focus on reducing bureaucratic delays and improving the speed of project implementation. The APIAIC single-window mechanism was cited as providing clearances within a targeted six to 12 months, with the government stressing the importance of faster project execution. India Live
Aviation infrastructure was another key focus. The ministers highlighted the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram, which they said was completed in 31 months, six months ahead of schedule. Plans mentioned at the summit included airport projects at Kuppam and Srikakulam, a drone city in Kurnool, an aerospace hub in Puttaparthi and an aviation training target of 5,000 professionals. On logistics, the State highlighted its 1.6-lakh-km road network and infrastructure projects worth more than ₹1 lakh crore. The government also pointed to the Amaravati Outer Ring Road and three greenfield ports at Machilipatnam, Ramayapatnam and Mulapeta as projects aimed at strengthening connectivity and trade. Officials said Andhra Pradesh had attracted ₹8.67 lakh crore in investment proposals through 216 mega projects during the past two years. Foreign direct investment also increased from $92 million in 2023–24 to $608 million in 2025–26, according to the figures presented at the summit. Thirty-one MoUs were exchanged during the event. The summit also featured an industrial exhibition showcasing regional businesses and products, including Araku Coffee, Ponduru Khadi and Madugula Halwa, alongside enterprises from sectors such as hydraulics, metallurgy and health technology. The focus was on connecting local MSMEs with wider domestic and global value chains.
