Rain Likely in Andhra Pradesh as Southwest Monsoon Progresses Towards Kerala

Visakhapatnam, 14 May 2025 – Parts of Andhra Pradesh are likely to receive rainfall over the next 2–3 days, as the southwest monsoon advances steadily toward Kerala, expected to arrive by May 27.

The monsoon has currently covered South and North Andaman, the Nicobar Islands, and parts of the southern Bay of Bengal. In the next 3–4 days, it is expected to spread across the entire Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Maldives, Comorin area, and the southern Arabian Sea.

The advancement is being supported by strong westerly winds, a surface circulation, and a trough system, all contributing to increased atmospheric activity in the region.

According to meteorological forecasts, isolated heavy rain is likely in 1–2 locations, while other areas may receive light to moderate showers. However, many districts in Andhra Pradesh will continue to experience high temperatures, hot winds, and persistent heatwave conditions.

Residents are advised to take precautions against heat-related illnesses and stay updated with local weather bulletins.
