The Visakhapatnam Railway Division is strengthening its environmental initiatives through a dedicated nursery at Railway Colony, aimed at expanding green spaces and promoting a cleaner, healthier environment across railway premises.

On Wednesday, October 21, Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra and Jyotsna Bohra, president of the South Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (SCoRWWO), visited the nursery to review the facility and its role in supporting plantation activities.

The nursery supplies different varieties of saplings for planting across railway colonies and office premises. The initiative is intended to encourage greenery throughout railway establishments while creating more pleasant surroundings for railway employees and their families.

Plantation initiatives can contribute to greener neighbourhoods and support environmental conservation when accompanied by regular watering and maintenance. By making saplings available for railway premises, the division is encouraging plantation activities as part of its broader environmental efforts.
