In a progressive step towards women’s empowerment and urban safety, Visakhapatnam is set to receive three state-of-the-art working women’s hostels at an estimated cost of ₹172 crore. This initiative aims to provide safe, affordable, and well-equipped accommodation for women professionals, students, and job seekers relocating to the city for work or education.
The hostels will be developed across prime locations in the city to ensure ease of access to major employment hubs, educational institutions, and public transport. Each facility is expected to feature secure gated premises, 24/7 surveillance, common dining halls, Wi-Fi connectivity, recreation rooms, and emergency medical support, offering a comfortable and secure living environment.
This government-backed project is a welcome development for the growing population of working women in Visakhapatnam. It aligns with the broader objective of creating inclusive urban infrastructure that supports women’s participation in the workforce and higher education.
With construction set to begin shortly, these hostels are anticipated to play a crucial role in promoting gender equity, workplace participation, and safe housing in Andhra Pradesh’s fastest-growing urban center.
