Visakhapatnam‑native Satish Meka, who has been settled in the United States for over two decades, has been appointed as a trustee on the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) Foundation, marking a proud moment for both the local Telugu community and NRIs worldwide.
Nominated jointly by the TANA election committee and board of directors, Meka's tenure as a trustee will continue through 2029. He expressed gratitude towards TANA’s leadership and members for their confidence in him. Looking ahead, he will play a central role in preparing for TANA’s milestone 50th golden jubilee celebrations in 2027.
A proud alumnus of St Peter’s High School, Gnanapuram, and a graduate and postgraduate scholar from Vizag, Meka moved to the U.S. nearly two decades ago. He has actively supported educational development in Andhra Pradesh by funding digital classrooms at St. Peter’s and various government schools across the Visakhapatnam and Godavari districts.
In his new role, Meka pledged to work “tirelessly to provide assistance and support to the Telugu people in America and the development of TANA”. His appointment also reflects the stature and reach of TANA, founded in 1977, with nearly 100,000 members and over 2,000 volunteers, serving communities across North America.
