Four people, including two women and two men, died in separate electrocution incidents in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday amid heavy rain and strong winds.

In Gollaveedhi of Nathavaram mandal in Anakapalle district, 28-year-old Rongala Janaki and her 55-year-old mother Gompa Manga died after coming into contact with a GI wire that was touching a live electric wire. The wire had been hanging from the top of their house amid continuous rain and strong winds. Janaki's husband, Rongala Nagaraju, was injured while attempting to help and was shifted to a government hospital in Narsipatnam.

In a separate incident at Cheruvu Upparapalem in Bapatla district, 32-year-old M. Venkateswarlu and his 52-year-old mother M. Ramadevi died after coming into contact with a snapped electrical wire during the rain and gales.

 

The incidents highlight the danger posed by snapped or exposed electrical wires during severe weather conditions, particularly in areas experiencing strong winds and flooding.
