Additional Trips Announced for Vizag–Cherlapalli and Sambalpur–Erode Special Trains to Clear Summer Travel Rush

In response to the heavy passenger traffic during the summer season, Indian Railways has announced the extension of trips for two popular special trains: Train No. 08579 Visakhapatnam–Cherlapalli Special and Train No. 08311 Sambalpur–Erode Special.

These additional services are aimed at accommodating the increased demand from holidaymakers, students, and daily commuters traveling from Vizag and nearby regions. The move comes as part of the railway’s seasonal strategy to decongest regular services and ensure smoother travel for the public.

🚆 Details of the Extended Services:

  • Train No. 08579: The Visakhapatnam–Cherlapalli Special, which connects key destinations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, will operate on additional days to cater to the seasonal rush.

  • Train No. 08311: The Sambalpur–Erode Special, a crucial link for passengers from Odisha to Tamil Nadu, will also see extended trips over the coming weeks.

The extended services will feature fully reserved coaches including AC, Sleeper, and Second Class compartments, ensuring comfort across all passenger categories. Additional halts en route will enhance accessibility for smaller towns and rural passengers.

🗣️ Railway Officials’ Statement:

Officials from the South Coast Railway Zone stated that these proactive steps are being taken to handle the summer passenger surge efficiently. They urged passengers to book tickets early via IRCTC or railway reservation counters to avoid last-minute hassle.

The extension of these services reflects Indian Railways’ commitment to enhancing travel convenience and providing timely solutions for seasonal challenges faced by regular travelers.
