The 80th Men’s and 19th Women’s All India Railway Boxing Championship-2026 commenced at the Railway Indoor Sports Enclave (RISE), Visakhapatnam, on October 7.
The four-day championship is being organised by the South Coast Railway Sports Association (SCoRSA), Visakhapatnam Division, and will continue until October 10. The event brings together men and women boxers representing different Railway units from across the country. Uniindia
Lalit Bohra, Divisional Railway Manager of Visakhapatnam Division and President of SCoRSA, was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. Jyotsna Bohra, President of SCoRWWO, attended as the guest of honour. Several senior railway officials were also present. UNI
Addressing the gathering, the organisers highlighted the importance of sports in promoting fitness, discipline, teamwork and excellence among Railway employees. The championship also provides railway sportspersons with a platform to demonstrate their boxing skills and competitive spirit. Uniindia
The event will continue at RISE through October 10, with participating athletes competing for honours in the national-level Railway boxing championship.
