In a significant development for regional aviation, a delegation from the Andhra Pradesh Air Travellers Association (APATA) met with Shri K. Hari Babu Garu, the Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, at Raj Bhavan, Bhubaneswar today to express their heartfelt gratitude.
The meeting was in recognition of Governor Hari Babu’s pivotal role in facilitating IndiGo’s new flight between Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam, achieved through strategic coordination with the Odisha Government to secure Viability Gap Funding (VGF) support.
The upcoming IndiGo flight 6E 6214 will begin operations from June 12, enhancing regional air connectivity:
- Arrival in Visakhapatnam: 13:55 hrs
- Departure from Visakhapatnam: 14:25 hrs
This new route is expected to strengthen tourism, business, and cultural ties between Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
🌍 International Connectivity Boost – Visakhapatnam to Abu Dhabi
In another major announcement, IndiGo flight 6E 1443 will commence operations between Visakhapatnam and Abu Dhabi starting June 13, operating four times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday):
- Arrival in Visakhapatnam: 08:20 hrs
- Departure to Abu Dhabi: 09:50 hrs
This marks a significant milestone in international air connectivity for Andhra Pradesh, offering a direct link to the Middle East and facilitating easier access for NRIs, tourists, and business travelers.
The APATA delegation celebrated this dual achievement as a breakthrough in aviation infrastructure that will have long-term benefits for the state’s economy and global engagement.
