The Government of Andhra Pradesh has officially appointed senior IAS officers to oversee and coordinate preparations for the International Fleet Review (IFR) 2026 in Visakhapatnam. This move follows a request from Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command (ENC).
As per G.O. Rt. No. 1044 dated May 28, 2025, Sri S. Suresh Kumar, I.A.S., Principal Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, has been appointed as Special Officer at the State Level.
Meanwhile, Sri M.N. Harendhira Prasad, I.A.S., District Collector, Visakhapatnam, has been named the Nodal Officer at the District Level. Their responsibilities include working in close coordination with the Eastern Naval Command to ensure the successful organization of the IFR event.
The order directs both officers to take all necessary actions in consultation with the naval authorities to facilitate a smooth and efficient conduct of the prestigious maritime event, which is expected to draw international attention.
The appointments were issued under the authority of the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, with the order signed by K. Vijayanand, Chief Secretary to the Government.
