Jyothi Yarraji Breaks Competition Record, Defends Gold in 100m Hurdles at Asian Athletics Championships



Gumi, Korea — May 29, 2025:
India’s sprint queen and national record holder Jyothi Yarraji once again proved her dominance on the track by clinching the gold medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Asian Athletics Championships.

 

Jyothi not only defended her title but also set a new competition record with a stunning timing of 12.96 seconds, reinforcing her position as one of Asia’s finest hurdlers.


This remarkable feat took place in Gumi, South Korea, where elite athletes from across the continent competed. Yarraji’s performance stood out as she maintained her composure and speed throughout the race, crossing the finish line well ahead of her competitors.

 

The win adds to Jyothi’s growing list of accolades and serves as a proud moment for Indian athletics, with her consistency and continual improvement being a source of national pride.
