The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) organised an environmental awareness programme for students in Visakhapatnam to promote sustainable living and strengthen environmental responsibility among the younger generation. The initiative aimed to educate students about the importance of protecting natural resources and adopting eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.

During the programme, APPCB officials conducted interactive sessions on topics such as pollution control, waste segregation, plastic reduction, biodiversity conservation, water conservation, and climate change. Students were encouraged to understand the environmental challenges facing society and contribute towards building a cleaner and greener future.

The awareness campaign also included activities designed to inspire students to become environmental ambassadors within their schools and communities. Officials emphasised that behavioural changes adopted at a young age can have a lasting impact on environmental protection and sustainable development.

APPCB stated that such educational programmes form an important part of its ongoing public outreach initiatives. By engaging students through awareness campaigns, the Board aims to foster environmental stewardship, encourage community participation, and support the state's long-term sustainability goals.
