Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has announced a senior management change involving its Heavy Plate & Vessels Plant (HPVP) in Visakhapatnam. Chittimouj Gowri Shankar has been appointed as General Manager and Head of HPVP, effective September 25, 2026. 

The appointment follows the superannuation of Y. Srinivasa Rao, who served as Executive Director (HPEP), Hyderabad, until September 24. Gowri Shankar will report to BHEL's Director (IS & P) in his new role. 

Gowri Shankar joined BHEL on February 3, 1992, and has completed 34 years with the company. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and has held various responsibilities during his long tenure with BHEL. 

 

BHEL's HPVP is one of the company's manufacturing units in Visakhapatnam. The plant is part of BHEL's operations in the city and manufactures heavy engineering equipmen
