Visakhapatnam: Panic gripped passengers and authorities at the Vizag railway station after a bomb threat was reported on the Mumbai–Visakhapatnam Lokmanya Tilak Terminal Express on Saturday. The train was halted and thoroughly searched by bomb disposal squads and railway police as part of emergency safety protocols.
The alarm was raised after a suspicious unattended bag was discovered onboard the train. However, after an intense inspection, security personnel confirmed there were no explosives. It was later determined that the bag belonged to a passenger who had accidentally left it behind.
Officials confirmed that the threat was a hoax, and no passengers were harmed during the incident. Authorities have launched an investigation to trace the origin of the threat call and are taking the matter seriously, citing the misuse of emergency resources and the panic caused among travelers.
The incident underscores the importance of heightened vigilance at transportation hubs and the need for responsible communication from the public.
