n a major boost to Andhra Pradesh’s IT infrastructure and employment landscape, Cognizant has announced a significant investment of ₹1,582.98 crore for developing a state-of-the-art IT/ITES campus at Kapuluppada, Visakhapatnam. The project is expected to generate 8,000 direct jobs by 2029, reinforcing the city’s status as a growing tech and innovation hub in South India.
The proposed facility is part of the government’s larger vision to transform Visakhapatnam into an economic powerhouse with world-class urban infrastructure, tech parks, and global investment inflows. The campus will focus on delivering cutting-edge IT and business services, leveraging digital technologies like AI, cloud computing, and analytics.
State officials welcomed the development, noting that the Kapuluppada region has been earmarked as a strategic IT corridor. The project is anticipated to further encourage local talent retention, reduce migration, and enhance the socio-economic fabric of the region.
With this ambitious move, Cognizant not only reaffirms its commitment to expanding operations in India but also contributes significantly to the Digital India and Skill India missions by fostering employment and digital infrastructure in tier-2 cities.
