A major accident was averted on the NAD Flyover in Visakhapatnam after a container truck overturned during the early hours of the day. Fortunately, there were no casualties, as the flyover had very little traffic when the incident occurred. Traffic police and emergency response teams quickly reached the spot and initiated measures to manage the situation.

 

According to officials, the container vehicle lost balance while travelling on the flyover, causing it to overturn and block a section of the road. Authorities diverted traffic to alternate routes while cranes were brought in to remove the container and clear the carriageway.

 

The operation to clear the vehicle took several hours, after which normal traffic movement was restored. Police also inspected the accident site and began an inquiry to determine the exact cause of the incident, including whether overspeeding, vehicle condition, or driver error contributed to the mishap.

 

The incident has once again highlighted the importance of road safety on major flyovers, especially for heavy commercial vehicles. Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution while navigating elevated corridors and adhere to speed and safety regulations to prevent similar accidents in the future.
