Empowering Faculty Through the NFLP: A Step Towards Educational Excellence
Visakhapatnam: Nurturing Future Leaders in Education. The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIM-V) has launched the second batch of its faculty development initiative, the 'Nurturing Future Leadership Programme' (NFLP).
This five-day programme, organized under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, aims to empower faculty members from Centrally Funded Institutions (CFIs) across India.
Thirty-four faculty members from various CFIs are participating in this intensive programme. The NFLP is designed to equip educators with the leadership and managerial skills necessary for effective governance in higher educational institutions, aligning with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
K. Rama Mohan Rao, Vice-Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), addressed the participants, highlighting the importance of such initiatives. He emphasized that improving the quality of education requires faculty members to develop leadership skills beyond traditional teaching methods.
The NFLP aims to provide a transformative learning experience, fostering the technical and managerial competencies needed for future leadership roles in higher education. This aligns with NEP 2020’s vision of creating a robust educational framework through enhanced faculty development.
Programme Director Amit Baran Chakrabarti outlined the key objectives of the NFLP, emphasizing its role in shaping the future leaders of India's educational landscape.
