The GO by the AP Government seems like a relief to all the big-budget movie releases
The state government issued a Government Order (GO) with the revised ticket prices for cinema halls. This seems to make all the Tollywood officials happy, as there are many big-budget movies lined up to release in the coming months.
According to the GO, 25 per cent of the total seats should be excluded from the non-premium category in all classes. The recliner seating category would be charged Rs 250, irrespective of the place. Further, the GO states that all three classes are merged.
The first film to benefit from the new price will be Prabhas 'Radhe Shyam, which will be released in theatres on March 11th.
The government constituted a committee with members from the distribution and exhibitors department to discuss this matter. The committee considered the loss incurred to the industry during the pandemic. After several rounds of discussion, they came to a conclusion and submitted a detailed report.
A team led by Chiranjeevi, Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, and other officials from the Tollywood industry met Chief Minister (CM) YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to discuss this last month. The CM agreed to raise ticket rates in the state's cinema halls. And that the state government would issue a new GO in this regard.
The new GO would benefit all the upcoming big releases such as Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Radhe Shyam, and Roudram Ranam Rudhiram (RRR).
