The Andhra Pradesh Fisheries Department has assured complete support to the families of the six fishermen missing off the Visakhapatnam coast.

The Commissioner said the state government is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with the Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy, Marine Police, and other agencies involved in the rescue operation. Authorities have intensified search efforts by deploying patrol vessels, helicopters, and surveillance teams to locate the missing fishermen as quickly as possible.

Officials also assured the families that they would receive continuous updates on the progress of the search operation and that all available government support would be extended. The Fisheries Department has been working closely with local officials and fishermen's associations to coordinate relief measures and assist the affected families.

The tragic incident occurred after a mechanised fishing boat encountered rough weather in the Bay of Bengal while returning to Visakhapatnam. One fisherman was rescued by a passing merchant vessel, while search operations continue for the remaining six. The government has reiterated its commitment to continuing rescue efforts until every possible measure has been exhausted.
