A recent Hyderabad–Vizag round trip, shared on Team-BHP, provides a traveller’s perspective on the current road conditions and route options between the two cities. The trip was undertaken over the extended weekend, with the traveller driving from Safilguda in Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam and back. Team-BHP.com
On the onward journey, the traveller took the Khammam–Devarapalle–Lankelapalam route, reaching Hotel Daspalla in Vizag after travelling from 5 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. On the return journey, the route included Vepagunta, Pinagadi, Devarapalle, Khammam and the Hyderabad ORR, with the trip taking from 8:30 a.m. to 5:50 p.m. Team-BHP.com
The traveller described the Suryapet–Khammam stretch as smooth and said the Khammam–Devarapalle road was in good condition. However, parts of the route remain two-lane, and slow-moving heavy vehicles can cause delays. The report also noted that some large rest areas are still under construction and that petrol-pump availability along the route is limited. Team-BHP.com
One of the major concerns highlighted was the Rajahmundry–Anakapalli section of NH16, where the traveller reported numerous potholes. On the return journey, the Pinagadi–Anakapalli route was found to be considerably smoother and helped avoid the longer delay experienced on the Lankelapalam–Anakapalli stretch. Team-BHP.com
The traveller also shared a positive impression of Visakhapatnam, describing the city as relatively calm and clean compared with many other cities visited during the trip. Team-BHP.com
