In a significant step for IT development in AP, MP GVL Narasimha Rao and ITAAP meet Union IT Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw
A high-powered IT industry delegation under the banner of the Information Technology Association of Andhra Pradesh (ITAAP) from Andhra Pradesh with Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao met Union Electronics and IT Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw in his Parliament Office today.
The delegation sought the Union Minister's support in expediting the creation of a state-of-the-art STPI incubation center at Vizag and developing an emerging tech skilling ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh by establishing in Vizag/Visakhapatnam a CDAC centre, a centre of NIELIT, the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), and a national-level Centre of Excellence (CoE) on cyber security.
The delegation also sought the ministry's support in promoting the startup ecosystem and culture in Tier II cities, including Vizag, in a big way and, for this purpose, initiating a promotion scheme for product development and startup companies in Tier II cities, something similar to the India BPO Promotion Scheme (IBPS).
Mr. Sreedhar Kosaraju, President of ITAAP, invited the IT Minister to be the Chief Guest at the IT Summit (InfinityVizag) 2023 in Vizag. Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw positively responded to the invitation to attend the InfinityVizag event and agreed to respond to all the proposals made for IT development in Andhra Pradesh.
The delegation that met with the Hon'ble Minister included Mr. Sreedhar Kosaraju, President, Information Technology Association of Andhra Pradesh (ITAAP), R.L. Narayana, Locn Head, WNS, Smt. Lakshmi M., Managing Director, PATRA India, Mr. Rama Krishna Dasari, MD, Efftronics, and Mr. Akarapu Venkat Madhu Shankar Kumar, Locn Head, Comtron USA.
In a statement following the meeting, MP Shri GVL Narasimha Rao, who led the delegation to the IT Minister, expressed confidence that his efforts in collaboration with the IT industry in Andhra Pradesh will help the neglected IT industry in that state receive much-needed attention and boost the sector's growth.
