Indian Navy Prepares for Swift Humanitarian Aid to Flood Victims in Myanmar

In response to the devastating flash floods caused by Typhoon Yagi in Myanmar, the Indian Navy has initiated rapid mobilization for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations.

This immediate action underscores the Navy’s capability to swiftly respond to regional crises, even on short notice.

The Eastern Naval Command (ENC), in collaboration with the Eastern Fleet and several key support units, including the Base Victualling Yard (BVY), Material Organisation, and INHS Kalyani, completed the overnight loading of essential HADR supplies.

These supplies, which include HADR gear, drinking water, food rations, and medicines, were loaded onto an Indian naval warship set to depart from Visakhapatnam for HADR operations in Yangon.

According to a statement released by the ENC, this rapid response showcases the Navy’s preparedness and commitment to providing timely humanitarian aid to nations in need, reinforcing its role as a reliable partner in the region during times of crisis.
