The Andhra Pradesh government is set to launch Palle Panduga 3.0 on September 29, with development works worth ₹11,085 crore planned across rural areas of the State. The programme will be formally launched at Udayagiri in Nellore district by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan.

A major part of the programme focuses on rural road connectivity. Around 6,000 km of cement-concrete (CC) roads will be developed at a cost of ₹2,700 crore, while 9,500 km of bitumen (BT) roads will be taken up at ₹7,550 crore.

The programme also includes 22,000 mini Gokulams (cattle sheds) for dairy farmers at a cost of ₹300 crore and horticulture plantations across 50,000 acres with an allocation of ₹225 crore. Another ₹110 crore has been earmarked for 1,000 km of magic drains.

A further ₹200 crore will be spent on rural infrastructure such as bus shelters, Gram Panchayat buildings, Rachabandas and other community facilities. Of the total ₹11,085 crore, the Central share is ₹5,391 crore and the State share is ₹5,694 crore.

 

According to government figures, earlier phases of Palle Panduga also covered rural roads, cattle sheds, farm ponds, soak pits and horticulture-related works. Palle Panduga 3.0 is planned as another phase of rural infrastructure development across Andhra Pradesh.
