South Coast Railway General Manager Sandeep Mathur reviewed the pilot Sarika AI system at Visakhapatnam Railway Station.
The system is being tested as a voice-based passenger assistance facility.
Sarika AI is designed to provide information through natural-language voice interaction.
The pilot supports nine languages, helping passengers access information more easily.
It can provide details about train schedules and delay updates.
Passengers can also receive information on platform allocations and coach positions.
The system is designed to guide travellers towards facilities such as booking counters, waiting halls and cloakrooms.
Information about food courts, drinking-water points, lifts and medical assistance is also part of the system.
The pilot uses both humanoid units and kiosk terminals at the station.
During the review, SCoR officials assessed the system and suggested user-friendly improvements.
The current deployment is part of Phase I testing of the technology.
The proposed Phase II would explore integration of Sarika AI with the RailOne mobile application.
