Three Boys Swept Away at Visakhapatnam’s Rushikonda Beach; Search Operation Underway

Three boys went missing after being swept away by strong sea currents at Rushikonda IT Hills beach in Visakhapatnam on Friday, October 2. The students, who were from the PM Palem and Madhurawada areas, had reportedly gone to the beach with a group of youngsters during the holiday.

According to reports, the boys entered the water when strong waves pulled them towards deeper waters. After the incident was reported, police personnel, Marine Police, local swimmers and other rescue teams reached the location and began searching the sea. A scuba-diving team was also brought in to assist with the operation.

The missing students were identified in subsequent reports as S. Suryaprakash, Nitish and Prasanth, all Class IX students aged under 15. Rescue teams recovered Prasanth’s body, while efforts continued to locate the other two students.

Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi reached the location and monitored the search operation. Further efforts were focused on tracing the remaining students along the Rushikonda coastline.
