For the first time, ‘Vande Mataram’ will be sung at Delhi’s Red Fort ahead of the National Anthem during the Independence Day celebrations on August 15.

The move comes as the patriotic song marks 150 years since its composition.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive as ‘Vande Mataram’ is performed, followed by the flag hoisting and ‘Jana Gana Mana’.

 

This year’s Independence Day celebrations at Delhi’s Red Fort will feature a special musical tribute.

For the first time, ‘Vande Mataram’ will be sung before the National Anthem during the ceremony.
