APSRTC is set to operate 20 electric ‘Aero Express’ buses between Visakhapatnam and Bhogapuram International Airport.

Trial runs of 16 buses have already been completed, with the remaining four expected to finish trials soon.

All 20 services are planned to begin from August 15, ahead of the airport’s scheduled flight operations from August 17.

APSRTC is preparing to launch electric bus services connecting Visakhapatnam with Bhogapuram International Airport.

The service will operate under the name ‘Aero Express’ and will use electric buses.

A total of 20 electric buses are being planned for the airport connectivity service.

Trial runs of 16 buses have already been completed successfully.

The remaining four buses are expected to complete their trial runs shortly.

APSRTC plans to commence all 20 bus services from August 15, 2026.

The corporation is currently working on finalising the routes and passenger fares.

The services are expected to provide convenient public transport for passengers travelling between Vizag and the new airport.

The launch comes ahead of the start of regular flight operations at Bhogapuram Airport.

The airport began initial operations on August 1, while scheduled flight services are expected to commence from August 17.

The electric buses will provide an environmentally friendly alternative for airport travel.

The new service is also expected to strengthen public transport connectivity between Visakhapatnam and Bhogapuram.

The initiative marks an important step towards creating seamless airport connectivity for passengers from Vizag and surrounding areas.
