The restriction will remain in force from June 29 to July 1 as part of enhanced security arrangements.

Authorities have warned that violations will invite legal action under the Drone Rules, 2021.

Visakhapatnam City Police have imposed a temporary No-Drone Zone across designated areas of the city in preparation for the visit of President Droupadi Murmu. The restrictions are part of comprehensive security arrangements for the President's official visit to attend the convocation ceremony of the Tribal University on June 30.

According to the police notification, the ban on operating drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) will remain in effect from 9:00 a.m. on June 29 until 2:00 p.m. on July 1. During this period, the flying, launching, or landing of drones within the notified area is strictly prohibited.

The restricted zone extends across a 12-kilometre radius from Visakhapatnam Airport to Hotel Novotel on Beach Road. The measure has been introduced to ensure public safety, strengthen security, and eliminate any potential aerial threats during the President's engagements in the city.

Police have advised recreational drone users, photographers, commercial drone operators, and other UAV service providers to strictly comply with the restrictions. Officials stated that anyone violating the order will face legal action under the provisions of the Aircraft Act, 1934, and the Drone Rules,
