Visakhapatnam Police Arrest 59 Property Offenders, Recover Stolen Assets.

The Visakhapatnam City Police have arrested 59 individuals in connection with property offence cases registered during May 2026, recovering stolen property valued at more than ₹31 lakh. The recovered valuables were handed over to their rightful owners during a property recovery programme organised by the police.

According to Police Commissioner Shankabrata Bagchi, a total of 68 property offence cases were reported during the month, of which 48 cases were successfully detected. The recovered property included gold and silver ornaments, cash, motorcycles, a van, and hundreds of stolen or lost mobile phones.

The Commissioner stated that the city's Crime Wing has strengthened investigations through the use of modern technology, surveillance systems, and coordinated field operations. As part of preventive policing, hundreds of CCTV cameras were installed across the city, while crime awareness meetings were conducted to educate citizens on safeguarding their property and reporting suspicious activities.

Police also highlighted their continued efforts to reduce property-related crimes through community policing, regular monitoring of habitual offenders, and enhanced patrolling. Officials said these initiatives are expected to further improve public safety and strengthen confidence in law enforcement across Visakhapatnam.
