Vizag TMT Rebars Make a Market Comeback as RINL Resumes Rolling Operations

Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, operated by Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), has resumed rolling operations for its Thermo-Mechanically Treated (TMT) rebars, bringing its branded Vizag TMT products back into the market.

According to a company release issued on October 23, production resumed in mid-October 2026. The development is expected to improve the availability of TMT rebars in different sizes and help meet demand from customers involved in residential construction, infrastructure development and other building projects.

Vizag TMT Returns to the Market

Vizag TMT rebars are an established product of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and are used in reinforced concrete construction. The renewed availability is expected to benefit builders, dealers and individual customers who rely on the brand for construction requirements.

RINL said the return of the product has received a positive response from customers and dealers, who have expressed satisfaction with its availability and quality.

Support for Construction and Infrastructure

TMT rebars are widely used in residential buildings, commercial structures and infrastructure projects. Their strength and suitability for reinforced concrete make them an essential construction material.

The resumption of production is expected to strengthen the supply of Vizag TMT rebars and provide customers with greater access to the product in various sizes.

RINL Resumes Rolling Operations

RINL operates Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, commonly known as Vizag Steel. The resumption of TMT rebar production marks the return of one of the plant’s key branded products to the market.

The company release did not specify production volumes or announce changes in retail prices. The effect on local prices and the extent of supply improvements will depend on market availability and demand.
