Vizag Writers, founded by Neha Giduturi in February 2024, has grown into a community that provides writers in Visakhapatnam with opportunities to write, share their work and receive feedback. The group currently has more than 150 members between the ages of 14 and 70, including students, homemakers and professionals.

The community organises silent writing sessions where members write together and later share their work. It also releases writing prompts every fortnight, with selected submissions featured on its Instagram page. Other initiatives include Rachana, where writers present their work before an audience, and Writers Retreats, which combine travel, time in nature and writing.

Vizag Writers has also launched Writers Connect, linking its members with writers from different parts of India. The community's activities have helped members return to writing, develop confidence and connect with people of different age groups and backgrounds.

 

The group is looking for more volunteers to help expand the community. Its next writing session is scheduled for October 4 at Shivaji Park in Visakhapatnam.
