Vizagite Hands Over 30-Acre D Patta Land to Government: A Noble Act of Civic Responsibility

In a remarkable display of civic responsibility and integrity, Kadiyala Rajeshwar Rao, a businessman from Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam, has voluntarily returned 30.46 acres of government-allotted D Patta land to the authorities. This selfless act is being hailed as an exemplary gesture in a time when illegal encroachments on government land are prevalent in many regions.

The land, valued at approximately ₹10 crore, is located in Chinna Bhimavaram village, in the Anakapalli district. Initially, the land was allotted to six individuals from marginalized communities by the government in 1984. Over time, the land changed hands, and in 2022, Kadiyala Rajeshwar Rao purchased the land from the Gorle family, who had acquired it through registered sale deeds in the 1990s.

However, when Rajeshwar Rao attempted to register the land in his name, he was informed by the registration department that the property was categorized as D Patta land—land specifically designated for marginalized individuals. The government holds the right to cancel the allotment and reclaim the land if it is sold to unauthorized individuals, which led to the land reverting to government control.

Faced with this legal situation and the possibility of a significant financial loss, Rajeshwar Rao chose to act in accordance with the law. Rather than engaging in a lengthy legal battle, he voluntarily handed over the land back to the government. His decision to do so has been widely praised by the community and leaders alike.

Jana Sena leader PSN Raju lauded Rajeshwar Rao for his integrity, noting that his actions set a positive example for others to follow. In an era where land encroachment is rampant, Rajeshwar Rao’s selfless and lawful act emphasizes the importance of adhering to land ownership regulations and respecting the rule of law.

This incident highlights the significance of upholding the principles of fairness and integrity, setting a powerful example for citizens, especially those in positions of power and influence. Kadiyala Rajeshwar Rao’s act of returning the 30-acre land not only restores faith in the legal system but also inspires others to respect the boundaries of land ownership and government regulations.
