12 Mini Flyovers in Visakhapatnam to keep a check on traffic jams



Visakhapatnam will soon be free from traffic jams at important junctions. The National Highways Development Agency (NHAI) is planning to build 12 mini-flyovers on the national highway connecting Anakapalli and Anandapuram via Visakhapatnam. As per the proposals given by the state government, mini flyovers have been sanctioned under the "One Time Investment Scheme" by the NHAI. A total of 12 mini-flyovers have been approved within a radius of 67 kilometers. These mini-flyovers will be built at road intersections connecting Visakhapatnam Port, Gangavaram Port, Visakha Airport, and Bhogapuram Airport. 

 


The NHAI has granted preliminary permissions for these flyovers, which have an estimated cost of Rs. 350 crores. The Consultants were selected to prepare comprehensive project reports (DPRs). Flyovers will be built in three designs from Anakapalli to Anandapuram,  a plus (+)shape for four road junctions, a Y shape for three road junctions, and a T shape for two junctions. Underpasses will be built as per the requirement.
                                                                                                                                                      According to NHAI, The DPRs are expected to be finalized and approved by the end of January 2023. The tender process is expected to begin in March or April and the construction is to be completed in a year and a half at Lankelapalem, Duvvada, the Steel Plant Main Gate, Gajuwaka, the Dairy Farm, Tatichetlapalem, Akkayapalem, Gurudwara, Seethammadhara, Maddilapalem, Endada, and Madhurawada.
