1. Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary
In very close proximity to Visakhapatnam city is the Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary. This  wildlife sanctuary is spread across an area of 70.7 sq km. A major part of this place is a dry evergreen forest with a wide range of scrubs and meadows around. Some of the primary animals spotted there include Indian Muntjac, Leopard, Jungle Cat, and Sambar Deer. One can find a wide range of birds as well.

2. Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary
Coring Wildlife sanctuary is approximately 170 km from Visakhapatnam. The Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the top wildlife sanctuaries in South India. The sanctuary is known for its wide range of mangrove vegetation. According to a survey, there are 120 species of birds in this sanctuary. The place also has a wide range of wildlife, including Golden Jackals, Fishing Cats, and Sea Turtles.

3. Kondakarla Ava Bird Sanctuary
Kondakarla Ava Bird Sanctuary is home to innumerable exotic species. It is a 60 km drive from the heart of the city. The rich aquatic biodiversity with lotus, fish and hundreds of species of resident avifauna and birds make this place a unique weekend getaway. The pristine freshwater lake is a natural habitat for more than 100 species of birds and 25 fish species.
