A major disaster was narrowly avoided at an airport in Florida, USA. The tires of American Airlines Flight 590 burst and emitted smoke during takeoff.
The pilots quickly applied the brakes, bringing the plane to a halt at the end of the runway. All 176 passengers on board were safely evacuated. Experts believe that if the pilots had not noticed and proceeded with the takeoff, a severe accident could have occurred.
