Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Proposes New Cricket Stadium and Youth Development Initiatives



During a review meeting, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of Andhra Pradesh put forth a visionary proposal to establish an international cricket stadium in Visakhapatnam, aimed at fostering the growth of sports in the region.

Additionally, the Chief Minister announced a partnership with the esteemed cricket franchise Chennai Super Kings, which has expressed its commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting their development as professional cricketers.

Enhancing Sports Infrastructure:

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, while assessing the progress of the Adudam Andhra initiative undertaken by the state government, emphasized the need for well-equipped cricket academies in Kadapa, Mangalagiri, Tirupathi, and Visakhapatnam. In this regard, he directed the Department of Youth Advancement, Tourism, and Culture (Sports) to transform the existing Dr YSR ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam into a Center of Excellence.

 


Empowering Youngsters:

The Chief Minister expressed his determination to ensure the successful implementation of Adudam Andhra, highlighting its potential to provide a solid foundation for budding talents. He stressed the importance of dedicated efforts in nurturing the aspirations of young cricketers. To further support this vision, influential personalities will be enlisted to actively participate in the program, fostering a conducive environment for their growth and development.

Government Officials and Sports Authorities Collaborate:

The review meeting witnessed the participation of prominent officials, including Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy, Principal Secretary G Vani Mohan, Secretary (Finance) N Gulzar, and representatives from the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) such as Chairman Byreddy Siddharth Reddy and Vice-Chairman Harshavardhan. Their presence demonstrated the government's commitment to the success of these initiatives.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's proposal to establish an international cricket stadium in Visakhapatnam and the collaboration with Chennai Super Kings reflect the government's dedication to promoting sports and youth development in Andhra Pradesh.
