Visakhapatnam: On August 18, 2024, Andhra Pradesh celebrated the opening of its first multiplace Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) Centre, Oxycure, located at Health City Arilova.

The Centre, founded by Dr. Shyam Peri, aims to offer affordable HBOT services for conditions such as Traumatic Brain Injury, Diabetic Neuropathy, and radiation-induced injuries from cancer treatments.

It also provides support for lifestyle-related issues and anti-aging treatments.

Previously, residents of Visakhapatnam had to travel to cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru to access such advanced therapy.

With Oxycure now available locally, this specialized treatment is more accessible to those in the region.

The inauguration was graced by prominent figures including Dr. P.V. Sudhakar, Dean of NRI Institute of Medical Sciences; Dr. V. Murali Krishna, Chairman of Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital; Dr. B.K. Sahoo from the National Research Development Corporation; and Dr. Ravindra Varma, MD of AINU.
