APSRTC Launches Multi-City Reservation Service, Improving Travel Access to North Andhra Pradesh Temple Cities

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) recently launched an innovative multi-city reservation service aimed at improving access to temple cities in North Andhra Pradesh. This new facility serves tribal areas by connecting them to destinations such as Tirupati, Srisailam, and Vijayawada. APSRTC ensures that passengers can travel seamlessly between these temple cities by introducing break journeys at important locations.

The introduction of a multi-city reservation service is a welcome development for tribal residents in North Andhra Pradesh. Direct bus services to long-distance cities were previously limited, with Visakhapatnam being the sole exception. APSRTC, on the other hand, has now expanded its bus services from Paderu, Parvathipuram, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam, from which people can reach major cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Tirupati, Ongole, Srisailam, Vijayawada, and Hyderabad.

Passengers can book tickets for their entire journey using the multi-city reservation service. Even if direct bus services are not available, APSRTC assigns two different buses for the journey, with layover times ranging from two hours to 22 hours. This arrangement allows passengers to effectively plan their journey and shift between buses at designated stops.

APSRTC hopes that by implementing the multi-city reservation service, it will provide relief to passengers who previously had difficulty accessing these temple cities. The new service not only eliminates the need for multiple bookings but also allows passengers to pre-book their entire journey, even when direct bus services are unavailable. This initiative greatly improves travel convenience and provides an appealing option for those visiting Tirupati, Srisailam, and Vijayawada from North Andhra Pradesh's tribal areas.

Due to the success of the multi-city reservation service, APSRTC has decided to broaden its coverage. Already, services from Srikakulam to Hyderabad, Srisailam, and Ongole have begun, with stops in Visakhapatnam. Routes from Visakhapatnam to Bengaluru with a stopover in Rajahmundry have also been added. Furthermore, APSRTC has introduced a few Kakinada-based services. These expansions will improve regional connectivity and meet passengers' diverse travel needs.
