District Collector Urges Housing Construction Updates within 100 Days

Visakhapatnam: District Collector Harendira Prasad has directed the Housing Department to expedite updates on over 71,000 sanctioned houses, aiming to align with state and central government guidelines.

During a review meeting on urban and rural housing projects, the Collector noted that of the 1.29 lakh houses sanctioned, only 23,995 have been completed.

The Collector emphasized the need for a 100-day action plan to accelerate progress.

He instructed officials to bring 71,133 houses up to date and elevate 4,109 houses to slab level, with a target of completing 11,450 houses.

The housing projects span 138 rural layouts and 64 urban layouts.

The Collector stressed the importance of starting work in all layouts, engaging with contractors and beneficiaries, and conducting internal reviews.

Daily progress reports are to be submitted starting from August 10, ensuring that beneficiaries are involved in the geo-tagging process.
