Eastern Naval Command is Not Against Vizag Being the Administrative Capital of AP
The Eastern Naval Command has released a statement denying all the reports that came out stating that Navy officials are against the government's decision to set up the administrative capital in Visakhapatnam.
On Saturday, the TDP leaders, including former TDP MLA Bonda Uma Maheshwara Rao, told the media that the presence of INS Kalinga in Visakhapatnam makes the city a security hub, and due to security issues and other reasons, the Eastern Naval Command told the government not to set up a secretariat at the Millennium Towers in Visakhapatnam. They also added that navy officials have asked the government not to set up the administrative capital in Visakhapatnam. This news has become the talk of the city, as the Eastern Naval Command's presence in Vizag is one of the key aspects of security, and the city of destiny has always cherished the Navy's presence.
The Union Defense Ministry has now clearly stated that there is no objection from their end in terms of the AP government's decision to set up a secretariat at the Millennium Towers in Vizag. Eastern Naval Command also added that navy officials have never objected to the establishment of an administrative capital in Vizag.
