Four Killed in Mysterious Blast in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir
Srinagar: In a tragic and puzzling incident, a mysterious blast in Sopore town, Jammu and Kashmir, resulted in the deaths of four individuals on Monday.
According to officials, the explosion occurred in the Shair colony of Sopore town in the afternoon.
The blast left four people critically injured. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where three were declared dead on arrival. The fourth victim was being transported to SKIMS hospital in Srinagar but succumbed to injuries en route.
The deceased have been identified as Nazir Ahmad Nadroo, Azam Ashraf Mir, Adil Rashid Bhat, and Abdul Rashid Bhat, all residents of the Sopore area.
Authorities have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
Despite Sopore's history as a hotbed of separatist violence during the insurgency, the area has been relatively peaceful over the past four years, free from terrorist activities.
It is also known as the former political stronghold of the late hardline separatist leader, Syed Ali Geelani.
