Visakhapatnam City Police organised a comprehensive medical camp for auto-rickshaw drivers and their family members on Sunday.
City Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi inaugurated the medical camp in Visakhapatnam.
The initiative was aimed at improving the physical and mental well-being of auto-rickshaw drivers.
It also focused on reducing road accidents that could result from health-related problems.
The free mega medical camp benefited 167 auto-drivers and their family members.
The programme was organised with the support of the Sri Sathya Sai Trust for Universal Welfare – Sri Sathya Sai Divyamurtham.
The Visakhapatnam City Security Council and GITAM Hospital also collaborated in organising the camp.
The camp was held at the Temple of Learning in the Police Barracks.
Participants received general medical examinations and screenings for blood pressure, diabetes and thyroid-related conditions.
Eye examinations, dental check-ups and oral cancer screenings were also provided free of cost.
Specialised consultations included gynecology, orthopedics, pediatrics, general surgery, psychiatry and counselling services.
The camp also offered selected cancer screenings, medical advice, free medicines for 10 days and HPV vaccination services.
