A group of 28 pilgrims undertaking the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra had a narrow escape from devastating flash floods in Nepal.
The group included pilgrims from Visakhapatnam, including members of a family from the Bheemili region.
They had travelled through a private tour operator for the pilgrimage towards Mansarovar.
After reaching Kathmandu, the group reportedly had to wait for several days because of delays in obtaining visas.
The delay changed their travel schedule and kept them away from their planned route at a critical time.
After receiving the required clearances, the pilgrims resumed their journey towards Mansarovar.
During the journey, the group stopped briefly for tea and to use a restroom.
This short delay reportedly proved crucial as severe flooding and landslides struck the route ahead.
The group's vehicle was reportedly close to a bridge near the China border when disaster struck nearby.
A driver travelling in the opposite direction alerted the group to the danger.
Their bus driver then acted quickly and moved the vehicle towards higher ground.
The pilgrims were safely evacuated from the danger zone and later returned home safely.
The incident highlighted how a series of unexpected delays and timely action helped the group narrowly escape the Nepal flood disaster.
