GVMC Commissioner Inspects Night Sanitation and Street Lighting in Vizag

GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg, IAS, conducted a night-time inspection of sanitation and street-lighting services in Visakhapatnam.

The inspection was aimed at assessing the quality of civic services being provided during night hours.

Officials reviewed sanitation activities and the performance of field staff across different parts of the city.

The functioning and maintenance of street lights were also examined during the inspection.

Proper street lighting is considered important for road safety and public security after dark.

The Commissioner stressed the need for maintaining clean and litter-free roads and public spaces.

Officials were asked to identify shortcomings and take prompt corrective measures wherever required.

The inspection also highlights the importance of monitoring civic services beyond regular working hours.

Night sanitation plays a key role in keeping major roads and commercial areas clean without disrupting daytime traffic.

Regular inspections can help improve accountability among field-level staff and service agencies.

GVMC is also focusing on improving urban infrastructure and the overall quality of civic services across Visakhapatnam.

The latest inspection reflects the civic body's efforts to ensure cleaner streets, functioning street lights and better night-time conditions for residents.
