As the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) commemorates its 10th anniversary, the institution reflects on a decade marked by significant milestones, strategic partnerships, and a steadfast commitment to excellence in management education.

Academic Expansion and Increased Enrollment

Since its inception in 2015 with an initial cohort of 50 students in the flagship Post Graduate Programme (PGP), IIMV has witnessed substantial growth. By 2023, the institute inducted 380 students into the PGP, marking a threefold increase in enrollment over four years. This expansion underscores IIMV's rising prominence and dedication to nurturing future business leaders. 

Elevated National Standing

IIMV's commitment to academic excellence is reflected in its performance in national rankings. In the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024, IIMV secured the 26th position in the management category, improving from the 29th rank in the previous two years. This achievement places IIMV ahead of several other second-generation IIMs, highlighting its rapid ascent in the realm of management education. 

Strategic Collaborations and Initiatives

Demonstrating a proactive approach to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation, IIMV partnered with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) to launch an 18-month Post Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship. This program, initiated in September 2024, aims to empower aspiring entrepreneurs from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, combining academic training with mentorship to drive venture creation and economic growth. 

Furthering its collaborative endeavors, IIMV signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Mizoram in November 2024. This partnership facilitates a hybrid modular program (Diploma + MBA) tailored for students from Centrally Funded Technical Institutions and Institutions of National Importance, bridging technical expertise with business acumen. 

As IIM Visakhapatnam celebrates its first decade, the institute remains committed to its mission of delivering high-quality management education, fostering research, and contributing to societal development. With a foundation of significant achievements and a vision for continued growth, IIMV is poised to further its impact on the national and global stages in the years to come.
