Infosys to set up Offices in Visakhapatnam and three other tier-two cities

The IT major Infosys will set up four new offices in tier-2 cities to get closer to bringing the available talent pool.

The company already had smaller centres in Indore and Nagpur but will now set up offices in Coimbatore, Vizag, Kolkata and Noida. Calling them the hubs of talent in the future, Indian IT major Infosys is establishing four new offices in tier-II cities.

The move is aimed at being in the vicinity of the available talent pool since a good number of new hirings in the IT sectors were made from these cities by Infosys. Many young employees in the IT sector were recruited from tier-II cities, and nearly 60 per cent of them have returned to their hometowns.

Krishnamurthy Shankar, group head of human resource development, said Many of our employees are working from their hometowns. We have looked at it and ensure they have opportunities to work closer to home. These are not satellite offices. It is at least 1,000 seaters, and we will expand them as we go forward. In the next quarter-end, all these offices will be ready. This isn’t the first time a big company has entered tier-II cities.
